I think we all know how much I hate “I have X number of followers” posts. It’s all just so…tacky.

Immediately upon seeing one of those, I just unfollow you. It’s just what I do. At this point, I would say it’s a compulsion.

New to me, yet very much along the same lines is the fantastic “nominate me for a tumblraward” post.

I will unfollow you. I don’t care how much I enjoy your posts, or how long I’ve been following you. It’s ugly, it’s desperate, it’s not what tumblr is about to me. It doesn’t sound like it’s all that big a deal, except I know that the very people I unfollow are the ones who crave the attention the most. So it kind of is a big deal. Also, mostly, I just don’t want your assholery clogging up my dashboard.

It occurs to me that these posts, where I yammer on about how annoying you are when you do annoying things are just as annoying, if not moreso, than the ones I’ve taken such exception to. Except they aren’t.

I just followed this chick because she totally gets it. Thank you!
